The HU13W Wide Format Midi horizontal gel unit is ideal for routine preparatory and analytical electrophoresis techniques. By accommodating combs with wider teeth the greater width of the HU13W can be used to scale-up nucleic acids for cloning, without compromising the sample throughput capacity of the HU13 format, by allowing a larger sample volume to be loaded into each comb well, while a maximum 200-sample comb throughput can be applied for the large-scale screening of mini-prep DNA. A removable gel-casting tray, comprising casting gates with integral silicone seals, provides leak-free and tape-free casting either within the tank or externally, whereas HU13W-SS Scie-Plas Super-Seals give the user the option of flexible gel-casting.
